Qashqai Kilims are powerful in design and smaller motifs are weaved with wool and cotton threads with intense colors. Qashqai tribes are famous for their migrations during the year and are famous for making the best kilims.
Qashqai motifs are also a deep ocean to explore and here were are only able to explore some of them:

• Animal-based patterns:
Animals play an important role in the nomadic tribes’ lives. Hence, their presence in the kilims is integral.
        • Goat, Wild goat, Capra, Ibex: symbol o f power, resilience and strength.
        • Birds: local birds, symbol of kindness, love, messengers and good weather.

• Plant-based patterns:
Nature has been always inspiring for those whose lives are entangled with it. Nomads migrate because of nature changes and use the local flowers and plants in their kilims.

• Geometric patterns:
Symbols are the human mind’s way of delivering complex meanings. The symbols have been found in the caves and this shows how our ancestors crave for transpiring their inner thoughts.
        • Circle: the most important geometric symbol, half circle is the symbol of Mitra, a Persian goddess.
        • Square: the symbol of four elements, water, soil, wind and fire; symbol of the whole earthly world.
        • Triangle: symbols of harmony and coordination, if one corner is downward represent fire and masculinity and if one corner is upward means water and femininity. Triangle can also represent maternity and reproduction.
